A Very Disappointing 0.5 lb gain!

Well, I don't know why I went up 1/2 lb.. I haven't cheated one bit since April 7th. So I guess this is just not a "Banner Week" for me. Next week will be better!!! If I were on the Biggest Loser I would be in so much trouble for gaining ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Focus ---- > Straight Ahead

I know this is going to sound rather simplistic in nature, but bare with me here lol A few weeks back my husband decided to mount a monitor on the wall in our office. At first I was annoyed that he was messing with my set up. However, as I began spending more time at the computer I started noticing that my neck and back weren't getting tired and sore. My eyes weren't straining. My posture all together was better. Profound discovery?? lol Probably not but it REALLY Works for Me!!!

Too many blessings be crabby :)

This week was my 30th Birthday. Let me tell you ... of all the Birthdays so far..this one I was wishing to AVOID. There is just something about "30". I don't know...maybe its the fact that the "20's" are over... Anyway, having just had my second child, and struggling with weight... I looked in the mirror this week.. not really liking what was starring back at me. I thought to myself "My word, I look like the frumpy old housewife I tried not to be"... but you know.. as the week went on.. my mood improved some and I started thinking. I have so many blessings in my life.. a husband who I love very much (makes me mad sometimes when he watches ESPN lol), two kids who I adore, a comfortable home, and life... so much sadness and awful things are going on right now in our world.. the news is littered.. with these horrific headlines.. I can't help but be grateful, be truly thankful for the blessings, big and small, that God has given me..

Thanks to "A Dusty Frame" ( for reminding us all to stop and count our blessings.. something I need to do more of...

Frugal Friday

For the past year, we have been slowly decorating our home. I love finding a good deal! :) My favorite place to shop is HSN.COM. One of my recent decorating adventures has been our bedroom. I found this comforter set, side tables, and trunk all at HSN. If you are trying to be frugal, or watching your budget but need a nice place to buy home decor and furniture at, you should definitely try HSN. They will even break up your payments if you need. Oh my word, I sound like a talking billboard haha. They aren't paying me to endorse them haha. My husband even has been bit by the HSN bug. lol

What Works For Me...

I call this our "Shoe Bench" haha. We just recently bought this, with the thought of getting our shoes off the floor. I can't stand it when I come in the front door and there are shoes sitting there. This bench has a seat that lifts up exposing a great hiding place for our shoes... This definitely works me!

2.5 lbs Loss

I had a good week... introducing back the treadmill and weights. No problems with Cheating at all. Thankfully I seemed to be past the "sugar cravings".

So far I have lost 10.5 lbs. I measured myself again today and my numbers came out that I have lost 17.25 inches. Before you gasp hahaah I measured everything possible. haha Wrist, ankles, shoulders, everything. I am so reason to stop. :) Also, my blood pressure was 120/66 last I checked. For me that is incredible.

Potty Training

Oh my word.. I have been going out of my mind this entire last year..trying to get my son to go potty in the TOLIET. Seemed that I had tried everything. Even great promises of rewards..was he interested??? NO! He knew how to, its just obvious he didn't want to.

So I decided to finally make a chart. haha. For 2 days now he has been going to the bathroom like a big boy. I just cannot believe it. Why in the world did I not try this earlier!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I would of known I could bribe him with tiny little stickers rather than grand bribes of toys....haha

Surviving... :)

Another week, and I am still standing up straight. This diet hasn't gotten the best of me yet.. ha. Doing pretty good on it. Haven't applause needed lol I guess we will see on Weigh in Wednesday what kind of results I see... however, I am not holding my breath. I haven't exercised like I had hoped. That is ONE thing I need to make time for.... If my WONDERFUL husband would finish setting up the exercise room...I just might be able to do some walking on the Treadmill.

Next month I am going to start on some Vitamins. I think that will really help me with the energy and just feeling better.

Finally.. Friday!!!

I have officially made it thru the week. Now to get thru the weekend. Haha. I haven't cheated this week on my food. With Carb diet.. there really isn't a reason to cheat when you know you can have whatever you want at dinner. Kind of helps with my insane desire to eat cookies for breakfast.

Breakfast was 2 eggs and a cup of coffee every morning. Sometimes I made an omelet, depended on how much time I had with the kids. For lunch all week I had salad, with different types of cut up meat. Sometimes little strips of thin steak or chicken. Or tuna. With that I had Diet soda. Sometimes I needed a snack, so I would eat a small piece of cheese or bite of meat. haha. So far its working for me. My cravings seem to have diminished, which usually takes about 3 to 5 days for that to happen.

Last night I watched the Biggest Loser. I had recorded it from Tuesday night. I tell you every week I am incredibly inspired... just that I forget how inspired I am the next day haha. However, it is so exciting to see people succeed in becoming healthy.. and strong. Gives me HOPE! :)

I hope everyone is doing well on your diets and exercising. Don't cheat :)

This Works for Me :)

With all the "diets" I have been on throughout the years, I have to say the Carb Diet has given me the best results. They have a Quiz to take that will gage your addiction to Carbs. I, unfortunately, fall on the SEVERE end haha. It is, however, very interesting, and really makes you realize how our bodies work when putting the wrong things in our mouth.

So once again I embark on the Carb Diet. But it definitely works for me!! :) Please join me every Wednesday for "Weigh in Wednesday". As I have already mentioned, I believe accountability plays a major roll in being healthy and achieving any goal.

Day 2 nearly complete

I had 2 eggs and a cup of coffee for Breakfast. For Lunch I had a large salad with tuna on top and some diet soda. For dinner, I grilled steak, fixed pasta, and baked garlic bread. YUMMM haha Remember for one hour I am allowed whatever I want for dinner. I also had a couple of chocolate chip cookies and an ice cream sandwhich hahah. I am trying to half hazzardly keep track of my calories..and so far I am ranging around 1100 a day.

I planned to walk the treadmill today.. but didn't happen. However, I did clean the house like crazy. Cleaned three bathrooms, did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and took care of the kids. Right now I am experiencing wonderful PEACE and QUIET haha My 3 1/2 year old boy is asleep as well as my 4 1/2 month old little girl. Woo hoooooo. haha I have about 16 minutes left to my hour of eating.. but I am done. blah. :)

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to tackle the Nursery and Office. (Did I mention we moved a year ago and we are just now starting to get things in the right place haha).

Wednesday will be my official "Weigh In Wednesday". I will post my numbers "I THINK". haha Being accountable I really think for me is the key, so I really do appreciate the support and inpute from you. It truly is encouraging.

Moving Furniture...burns fat...

Yesterday and Today.. I moved more furniture around, and hauled more books thru the house than I have in a LONG time. I filled four book shelves full. Oh my goodness, I kept telling myself only 10 more trips down the hallways. haha We bought some shelves and my husband decided he was going to put lights in the top. Well, at first I was thinking 'oh brother' hahah But after it was all finished I look at the finished project..and I was quite impressed. However, guess what is under each spotlight on the top shelf?? His collector cars.. no wonder he was wanting to complete the project hahah. I think that is a great idea to dress up any shelf. Anyway, with moving all these books and shelves around, I felt like my body received quite a workout. Tomorrow I am going to be putting up window treatments.

1st Day

I awoke this morning thinking.. there was something exciting I had to do. Then all of the sudden.. I remembered... with slight dread I might add, that today was the day I was going to put away my bad habits, my poor health, and race towards a new me.

Since I am doing the Carbohyrdates Addict Plan, I ate 2 eggs for breakfast with 1 cup of coffee. I had been eating 2 bowls of sugary cereal. I hope I am not greeted with a migrane this week.. from going off my sugar high. For lunch I plan to eat a salad with Tuna or Chicken. And dinner, following the Plan, for one hour I am allowed to eat whatever I want. Now, I know if you are not familiar with the Carb Plan this sounds CRAZY. I thought the same thing before. However, in the past I have done really well with this. In taking the Carb Quiz (you can find the link to the right of the page) I found out I was severly addicted to Carbs. Which was causing my body to go haywire as I was stuffing my mouth with carbs, sweets, and sugars.

Tonight after my choice of dinner.. I plan to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

Get Set, Get Ready.... (Almost) GO...

Well, it is Saturday, probably not the best day to start my life altering diet. haha. So I am setting my goal for Monday. That way I can plan a little. Don't worry I am not quitting yet.. :)

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
