Running Towards Technology..

I wanted to share what has really helped me with my exercising the last few weeks. When on the treadmill, I tend to become very bored, very easily, VERY fast.. lol I have to be watching something! However, because treadmills tend to be noisy, I was finding that the TV volume was up way tooooo loud..therefore I was disrupting my entire household lol My husband gave me an extra laptop to use exclusively for the treadmill. I am telling you.. this is the best thing ever!!! I plug my earphones into the laptop and turn a movie on or watch tv shows online..this is an incredible distraction to the huffing, puffing, and PAIN of exercise. THIS WORKS FOR ME lol :)

Great idea!!! Oh, and I too, have left a forgotten load in the washing machine many a time. This is where the older kids come in handy. I just tell them to keep an ear out for the load to get done, and they put it into the dryer, and then unload the dryer and sit the basket in my room. Now, if we could just find a "clothes folding fairy" we would be set!

I used to use the tv too until the family started complaining now I use my kid's portable DVD player.

Good luck on your weight loss goals!

I have wanted to do his exact thing! Either that, or attach bicycle pedals to my computer chair. Do you read blogs while you walk?

What a great idea! I generally can't be concentrating on any screens because of my motion sickness, so instead I listen to audiobooks on my iPod when I'm walking.

How very sweet of your husband! That's a neat idea, and I would totally love to watch tv shows on it while exercising!

I also used the kids portable dvd player. It worked great. I kept a velcro strap in my exercise bag and would take it with me to the Y. It wouldn't work on all the elliptical machines but it did fit on my favorite one.

I spent about a month going through all the sports movies I could find. ha!

Sadly, the player broke last month. I haven't had the chance to get it replaced yet. Thanks for the reminder. I might need to make that a priority as summer is coming and I need to get in shape!

Thanks for stopping by.

That is so hilarious! What a great idea. Marc just pulled a lap top out from our stash for me to use too lol. Great job on the 20lb. I just got done working out, but just reading your success makes me want to turn the DVD back on again. -TaraG

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
