Organized Pantry reduces stress!! lol

Last week I posted about "stocking up" food. My pantry went thru a complete overhaul this last week... Here are my before and after pictures haha. Notice the colored buckets at the bottom. Those are paint buckets I bought at Walmart for under 4 dollars a piece. They come with sealed lids. In three of the smaller buckets I was able to fit 25 lbs of sugar, 25 lbs of rice, 25 lbs of brown sugar, and the slightly larger bucket I fit I think closer to 30 plus lbs of flour. However, I need an additional bucket for my flour considering I bought a 50lb bag of flour hahah. I feel pretty good with having "extra" food staples on hand, and a ORGANIZED pantry!!!

It looks great! Wow, the paint buckets are a wonderful idea. I'll have to get myself one to store the big, gigantic bag of flour I just bought.

Your pantry looks great! It's encouraging to me to see what you've done. I'm working on my kitchen right now, I need more storage!! I'd love a pantry like yours!
I have found a goldmine however, this week. I went to a Fred Meyer's (grocery chain here in the NW) and went to the bakery section, and I got 4 gallon buckets with lids for .50 each!! I was so stoked! (I bought 10 of them and labeled them with my scrapbooking alphabet stickers! Well, my girls did the stickers actually!) So now I have storage for my flour, sugar, rice, etc...

Thanks for sharing what you are doing with us!

I would have never thought to use paint buckets. Brilliant!

And I'm trying not to have pantry envy over all that space you have. What a blessing!

Hey Marlina.. what a great deal .50 cents for the buckets??? grrr I paid 3 something lol I thought I was getting a bargain !!! :)
I am so happy with the storage and having the extra staples.. just sends a little relief my way.. I bake once a week for my husband.. he likes to take things to work.. so I do love to have all the extra flour and sugar.. :)

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
