Aloha Friday - Merry Christmas?

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday.. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

An Island Life Asked this Question: Why did you start Blogging?

My Answer: My sister (at My Everyday Joys Blog) encouraged me to start my own blog. And with my wanting to lose weight I felt that blogging would be a great outlet for writing and receiving encouragement!

My Question is:

When do you put your Christmas Tree and Decorations up?

We well, lol my husband loves Christmas so much that for the past few years it has gone up after Halloween lol But this year he is pushing for this weekend lol I'll let you know Monday who wins the Christmas Tree War lol

Normally the day after Thanksgiving, but this year I am really worried about my 18 month old, he is a climber, and I fear for my tree. We might we until closer to Christmas this year, for my own sanity!!
Good question!!

We typically put our decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving. If we get a live tree, we wait until the first week of December.

We usually start with the nativity scene and Christmas tree Nov 1. It takes me a few days to get the tree finished, and I even have a graphic I pull out every year because it is SUPER SPECIFIC and beautiful. I almost have to confess sin over pride of my Christmas decorations! LOL!

I use to follow childhood traditions & put it up the day after Thanksgiving, but looking at everything for a month, became overwhelming for me, a few years back. It wasn't a good thing, so we decided to wait until the first weekend of December instead. You'll be surprised at the difference a week makes for me.

I will put my christmas decorations up Friday after Thanksgiving because I am sooo excited to the Christmas season. However, with a little boy who loves to take the ornaments off the tree and put them back on, over and over again, I will take the decorations down the day after Christmas because I am tired of chasing down the ornaments.

Usually the day after Thanksgiving. I feel guilty if I do it before, almost like I'm rushing Thanksgiving away!

While we were living in Red Bud we had to have it up a week or two before Thanksgiving as we were on Main Street and the Chrismas walk was the weekend after Thanksgiving...so we didn't want to look like party poopers.

Normally it is the day after Thanksgiving!

We put our decorations up Thanksgiving weekend.

If we are going out of town for Christmas I put up a fake tree. If we are here we go to a Christmas tree farm and cut it down.

Last year we did it Thanksgiving weekend. (The joys of having a fake tree) I can see us doing it again that weekend as it worked out great for us!

How awesome that your parents are driving down so you can see Fireproof! Even though you can tell it wasn't a high budget film like holywood can do, I thought it was GREAT! I'm so thankful they came out with that movie and that I was able to talk my husband into going.

I hope you have a great weekend!

When I was a kid it ALWAYS went up the day after Thanksgiving and we have leftover turkey sandwiches and start wrapping Christmas gifts. Now though we wait until mid December for the tree and hubby puts the Christmas lights up around the 1st.

We usually go the second weekend after Thanksgiving and get our tree. We spend the day hanging ornaments and decorating the house! This is one of my favorite things to do!

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
