Aloha Friday!

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday.. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question this week:

What is your favorite (homemade) Christmas gift that you enjoy making?

I try to learn new things every year.. I often forget them.. lol I love making Christmas ornaments, or anything to do with family photos, or baking goodies put into cute packaging.

I think, preparing fruit salad with young coconut and all purpose cream then distributing one medium pack for every neighbor is the best i can remember.

I love making home baked goods to give away, but it's not so good for my diet to have all that stuff in my house, even if I'm planning to give it away. This year, I'm thinking about making some bath salts or soaps, or something like that.

If you have time, I'd love for you to check out my Aloha Friday. I'm having trouble designing my blog badge, and I need lots of input... http://chocolatefingerprints.net/?p=619

I love to knit things to giveaway - like washcloths.

I am hoping to figure out a way to have my kids decorate picture frames to give to family members with our portraits that were recently taken.

Have a great weekend!

Mmmmm.... I'm not really very creative and handy so this one is always hard for me. Especially since my sister can make ANYTHING and it looks good. I will make cookies or fudge and try to wrap them in beautiful packaging. People always seem to like that.

I love giving away tins of fudge each year at Christmas time.

It would have to be my fudge.
I was making huge batches of it and taking some with me during holiday visits.
The one year I didn't, some relatives asked "What? No fudge this year?" So now it's turned into a tradition-kind of like a fruitcake only it actually gets eaten.:)

I love making holiday candy. My grandmother always sent us chocolate bon-bons (peanut butter dipped in chocolate) and I have started making them each holiday season as well to share with others. It brings me back to childhood a little. :)

That's a tie between making the cards or baking goodies for gift baskets, I enjoy both.

I haven't made anything for a couple of years! I think I'm getting inspired! I love making "corn bags." I make small "pillows" out of unbleached muslin, and fill them about halfway with feed corn. (You can buy big bags at the feed store.) Then, I made a soft flannel cover (kind of like a pillowcase), that can be removed and washed. Then, heat in the microwave for a minute and a half and enjoy toasty, warm feet when you go to bed!

I love to make a large batch of fudge and sugar cookies to share with my family. Everyone gets their own little gift box of yummies.

I love making my famous sugar cookies and giving them to friends and family. I think this year my UPS lady will get some too. I keep her pretty busy. :)

Last year hubby made carrot cake which we placed in Christmas decorated boxes. I printed personalized tags and gave them to close family and friends.

I've always been a scrooge when it came to the holidays, and when people said kids change everything i thought they were insane... But they do, and I can;t wait to share the holidays with my girls... And this is an awesome tradition, MAKING something... Obviously we don;t do it now, but thank you for the inspiration.

I enjoy baking and making gift baskets for Christmas.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
