Aloha Friday

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday.. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question is:
Does it bother you if someone uses pictures of you or your family on the Internet without permission?

As a Mother, it bothers me greatly. I do not stand for that. That is why I put "watermarks" on my pictures. Especially the ones of my children. I don't think ,whether is for legal reasons or moral reasons, that anyone has the right to use pictures without parent's permission.

I agree & actually it scares me when I am looking @ someone's post & they've got naked baby pix or partially clothed children on them. Too easy to take them & run off!

I don't think anyone ever has. Or at least not that I know about. I wouldn't like people using pictures of my son without permission, but I shamelessly post pictures of him all the time.

I haven't come across this happening, but I would be livid if this happened! I am the only one who gets to plaster my kids faces anywhere!!!
HA HA HA

Ooooh - did someone do this to you/your family???

I agree...while "I" do post pics of them all over the place, and I'm pretty careful about how I do it...I would be sick to see "my photo" somewhere it wasn't warranted to be.

Just curious...how does the watermark help with this...they can still "steal" your photo - right...just asking because I've considered the watermark thing....lemme know :)

MamaJoss.. I think the watermark just kind of gives it the copyright ownership. You are right faces can be cropped out but I think it does limit what they can do.. And yes.. this was just done to us in the last week. :(

That would bother me.

I would love to post pics of my grandchildren on my blog, my son said okay but he was not really enthusiastic about it so I have not posted any of them.

I think everyone needs to ask permission if they want to post pics of family members or friends.

I've never had this happen to me that I know of! I have no idea how to add a watermark on my pics but wish I could. I post my daughter's picture a lot and would be furious if someone used them!

For such reasons I never post pictures of my family.

I've never had that happen, but it I think it would bother me very much! That's why I always ask my friends before I even post their names.

Thanks for the yummy recipe ideas today! I'll have to try that burger one, for sure!

I think parents should always right of refusal. I wont use any pictures of my kids with other kids because I don't know how their parents would feel about it. So I just don't do it. I know I would want to be asked.

Good luck with your weight journey. Some of the fun things I did after my second child, I would stand at the changing table and do squats after changing diapers, then talk, count and laugh with baby and get a little work out in the process. 5 minutes here and their all day long seemed to help. Babies go through a lot of diapers so it was a great time for both of us.

I should start watermarking but I don't.

Since I blog a lot about our life in Hawaii and I have a blogger acct and Google owns blogger the pictures tend to come up automatically on Google Images when people do searches for things to do in Hawaii. I have had random people ask several times if they can link to my blog posts, which I dearly appreciate in advance.

First of all, I'm very sorry for my late visit. I've been a little busy lately.

Yes, I would feel upset if someone uses my personal photos without permission.

I guess I never really thought about it. It will probably be something I really think about after I have my little one in January.

As for last weeks post (on my blog) about your traditions...we don't have many for the holidays yet either. I am hoping that once the baby comes we will start a few traditions.

I don't think that's happened yet but let's be real. If I looked good in the pictue, it's ok. If I didn't, then grrrrrrr.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
