Be the first to Know, Click, & Buy!!

I absolutely love to shop, but I love to find a good deal more. The biggest shopping day of the year, we all know, is the day after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday! As much as I want to get up at 4 am, fight the traffic, and stand in lines for hours only to be railroaded in the aisle by a shopping cart, driven by a frantic face customer, diving for the last stereo on the shelf, which happen to be the very thing I had come for!!!!! Well, I have a solution. is an awesome website! They provide a priceless, time saving, incredible service. All you have to do is submit your email address on the main page, and you will receive Black Friday add updates! This means for instance, one of my favorite stores to shop in is Target. I look down the list of stores that has listed and find Target. Click, and wow, I have the list of items that will be on sale this year on Black Friday. Not only do I know ahead of time, but I will be able to buy these things ONLINE, the same Friday that everyone else is out and about fighting for their purchases! No more hassle for me!

I love the idea of having all the Black Friday store adds come to my email instead of having to wait until the thanksgiving ads come out! So hurry up click here and be the first to know the Black Friday sales for 2008.

I think that the word "Collectibles" does not resonate with a child. I say that to say that my 3 1/2 year old got into my husbands many tubs of collectible cars, sport figures, ect... grrrrrrrrrr I am going to be in troubleeeeeeeeeeeeeee! lol My son said "oh mom I needed a toy". How in the world am I suppose to explain to my little boy that Daddy has toy cars just like you do, but you can't have Daddy's cars! lol

Well, hopefully my hubby won't be toooooooooo mad when he gets home from work LOL

"Stretch" those muscles...

Along with having my exercise room set up and stocked with a Treadmill, Stationary bike, and Eliptical machine, I needed to do some strength training.. I have recently noticed on tv lately that a few different trainers are recommending the Stretch Bands as a MUST HAVE. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago..and I really feel a difference.. Now.. I didn't lose any weight this week GRRRRRRRRRRRR but as far as the strengthening goes, I can tell that this is really doing the job, and I did lose 8.5 inches since last week... It is recommended to use the band for 15 to 20 minutes at a time.. I found mine at Target. I like the Reebok band with the handles, allows you to incorporate the leg muscles as well.I enjoy this opposed to lifting the HUGE Weights lol

Weigh in Wednesday

Oh my word, what a bad RESULT week. Not quite sure why.. I did not have any positive results, seeing that I did exactly what I did the week before. However, a few weeks back I remember having a 1/2 lb gain grrr.. so maybe this is just one of those weeks. Well, at least I still lost inches...that is consistent every week if anything is... How did you do??

Boxes, Envelopes, and more Boxes...

Recently, I read that the USPS will give you "free" boxes to mail items in at a flat rate. lol I had never heard this before. So I made my way to their website...and what do you know??? You can order however many boxes or envelopes you need for "free" and you don't even have to pay for postage lol I know this sounds lazy..but I thought my word this saves on gas..and is quite convenient. I must admit, I thought perhaps the postman might be mad at he had to make three seperate stops to drop off my silly boxes.. (30 total haha) This works for me lol

When "Storms" of life bring us to our knees...

A couple days ago, I posted about my brother being in the most recent Tornado in Colorado. I really thank the Lord for sparing my brother's life, and the life of so many we know. My brother told us that the Tornado was evidently 1 1/2 blocks away from his home. One and a half blocks! What a miracle.. Looking at the footage of the storm, really shows God's might and power. But it reminds me that HE is a just and loving God, and wants all of our trust and love.

Even when things are bleak and scary, we need to keep our eyes on the Lord. I have heard this statement many times - Why do bad things happen to good people- I think there are many reason, but one is that God has a purpose and a much bigger picture than we can ever imagine or see. Sometimes it can be starting out as simple as getting our attention, driving us to our knees in prayer.. igniting our faith in Him. In an odd way I am thankful for this Tornado...caused me to pull out my bible, and pray... I am so thankful to Him that my brother is fine...

Gas Prices are out of control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This can't be RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE: (as of 9:15pm lol OOPS now its $4.03/gallon I am scared to see what tomorrow brings.)

Buying in Bulk

My husband and I went to Costco last night! I love that store!!!!!!!! One of my favorite things to buy there is the prepackaged chicken breast. I know its more expensive then just buying a whole chicken, but I have to say the convenience of having chicken breast already divided in neat little prepacked bags is priceless for me. That way I only have to defrost one chicken breast at a time if I want. That really works well since I like to grill up chicken to go on my salads for the week. My opinion is this is pretty frugal.. becauseeeeee when I buy chicken in a huge pack bundled together or buy a whole chicken cooking it all up at once I find myself wasting chicken! Even If i freeze it.. then I forget that I have it in the freezer. So paying more actually saves me in the long run!

I also bought myself a monster bag of Baking soda hahah thanks to all you lovely bloggers who have now convinced me that Baking soda and Vinegar are a necessity to have in the home!!!! Baking Powder is such a good deal there as well. I think I paid like 3.49 for a big container.. that will last me quite a while! I bought the 5 dozen eggs, which is such a good deal at 5.49! Anyway, I won't bore you with EVERYTHING I bought lol but Costco really is a great place to buy some things in bulk.. truly does save money in the long run. (That is if your husband doesn't keep throwing stuff in the cart like books, computer software, and anything else they can find lol)

Tornado in Colorado

I am sure everyone has heard by now, of the horrific tornado that touched down in Windsor, CO this morning. My brother was in the Tornado, and we have a lot of friends in that area. My brother said he woke up this morning to beautiful weather, he started getting ready for work, then he heard crashing noises.. went to go check at the window..and saw baseball size hail falling.. then the window exploded in his face, then all the glass was instantly sucked back out the window. He ran outside to see people running, and screaming.. One woman came running up to him saying "Please help, my house is gone". He has been helping people all morning as much as he could..trying to patch up windows. Please pray for the people in Windsor, CO. Many people were hurt, and lost their homes. Sure brings things back into perspective when those you know and love are affected by tragedy!

Running Towards Technology..

I wanted to share what has really helped me with my exercising the last few weeks. When on the treadmill, I tend to become very bored, very easily, VERY fast.. lol I have to be watching something! However, because treadmills tend to be noisy, I was finding that the TV volume was up way tooooo loud..therefore I was disrupting my entire household lol My husband gave me an extra laptop to use exclusively for the treadmill. I am telling you.. this is the best thing ever!!! I plug my earphones into the laptop and turn a movie on or watch tv shows online..this is an incredible distraction to the huffing, puffing, and PAIN of exercise. THIS WORKS FOR ME lol :)

Pay Less to Impress!

It seems like every January as I am filling in all the birthdays, anniversaries, and special events in my calendar, that I begin thinking about where I am going to buy cards, or if I am going to make my own. To go out and buy cards for the million people on my list, would literally cost a fortune at the lovely price of $4 a card, sometimes more. Making them at home is alright, it just takes time, and fiddling with the printer, trying to line the paper up, can sometimes prove more trouble than its worth. Well, I think I have the solution. CardsDirect is an online company that provides the neatest options for birthday cards. Not only can you buy in bulk and save loads of money, but you are also able to have the card and envelope customized...ah one less handwriting disaster!

Seems like every six months my Mailing List grows by leaps and bounds, and coming from a large family with siblings who seem to be having children every other month (ha) I think it might be time for me to invest in Birthday Cards by the hundred then one at a time. CardsDirect has a huge selection of Birthday Cards to choose from. My favorite one, and believe me it was difficult to choose, is called the Birthday Gifts Card . After choosing the Birthday card you "LOVE" then you choose your quantity, click Continue. The next page will give you the options to either personalize the inside of the card or personalize the return address label on the envelope. I really can't believe how simple they have made the process. Between family, friends, my husbands co-workers, and church friends it will be so worth ordering my cards through CardsDirect.

Don't let another birthday go by without checking out birthday cards at CardsDirect.

"Coming Out of My Shell"

Do you enjoy Oysters? People all over the world consume Oysters in many different ways. Some eat oysters raw, steamed, or grilled. There are hundreds of ways to fix an Oyster. However, there are many risks to eating a raw oyster. Gulf oysters processors have made it their mission to develop a technology that offers much safer alternatives to the regular raw oysters you might be used to. These safety features highly reduces the Vibrio vulnificus to non-detectable levels. Making it once again healthy, safe, and enjoyable for you to eat raw oysters.
is a very informative website that really educates you in the proper way to choose a healthy oyster and of course the proper way to cook them.

Was my video worth me "coming out of my shell"? haha I am not sure, but its definitefly worth you "coming out of your shell" and checking out so you can experience a healthier life.

Where are the EGGS????

Am I the only one that has a husband that forgets to stop and get the eggs, milk, and bread??? lol It's not his fault really. He works really hard. It's just that now I am in a panic over what to eat at breakfast. I have one egg left grrr and with my eating plan I need two lol I don't exactly have chickens out back, and salad doesn't exactly sound appealing for breakfast..blah! Well, I guess I will have to survive on one egg in the morning with my decaf coffee. The things we do to be healthy lol :)

The Stark Museum of Art Brings History to Life

I don't know about you, but I am a lover of History. I grew up in a family who was very interested in history of all types. My grandfather in fact, was an archaeologist among many other things in his long life. He passed down his love for the American Indian culture and artifacts to his children and grandchildren. Along with my Grandfather, my Grandmother was an exceptional author and artist. She loved to paint American Indian settings. I always thought my grandparents home to that of a Museum.

Located in Orange, Texas, is an incredible museum known as the The Stark Museum of Art. They have a unique, authentic quality in how they present and display these amazing collections. The Western collection, which starts back in the early 19th century, depicts many artists view of the United States at the time, such as paintings of early American Indians in their natural settings, along with portraits of American Indians. Artists such as George Catlin, Alfred Jacob Miller, John Mix Stanley and Paul Kane embraced their journey and lent their perspective to beautiful artistry recording what a camera could not during their lifetime. The Western Collection delves into decades later and captures the true identity the Cowboy.

One collection that interest me the most is the American Indian Art. How fascinating it is to view artifacts, clothing, and artwork of the the American Indians! A small part of history restored, for our children and their children so they to will remember how our country came to be.

If Decorative Arts claim your attention, then the Stark Museum of Art is where you need to visit. The exhibits include items from the Steuben Glass collection, such 76 engraved plates. Also highlights artist Dorothy Doughty's series of porcelain birds, and so much more.

For the Rare Books and Manuscript lovers, there are works by naturalist John James Audubon, like the famous "The Birds of America".

Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark established The Stark Foundation as a non-profit corporation in 1961. Their vision was to educate through the arts, health, and human services. Through this vision, the Stark Museum of Art was born. Sitting today in the great place of Orange, Texas, teaching, educating, and offering the public a place to absorb the history of our great country.

Please take a look at the Stark Museum of Art website. You will find it educational, informative, and any lover of the Arts will add this to their list of "Must See" places.

Potty Training Update lol

I blogged a few weeks ago about Potty Training my son, andddd I am so happy to report that I do believed he is officially out of Diapers wooo hoooooooooooooooo lol :) The Chart I used really did help get him motivated. It's so funny when things seem insurmountable (even something like potty training)given a little time and focus you will succeed. If only I could remember this lesson each time lol

Take "Advantage" of Renting a New Car

It seems that every time my husband and I think of taking a vacation we have to decide between driving our own car or renting one. Since having our second child in November, we have been actively looking for a larger vehicle. One option we like, is to rent a car from a reputable car rental company and drive it for the weekend or a week of vacation. Not only does it save our own car from added mileage, but it gives us a chance to test drive a new car. There are so many car rental companies out there now that it's difficult to know where to start in choosing one.

We will be taking several trips this summer, mostly business trips, we both HATE I repeat HATE to fly haha, so we will be driving and most likely be renting a car. I think next time we will rent a car from Advantage Rent a Car. They have a great selection of new cars to choose from with some pretty good Specials going on right now, and with rising gas prices we need good deals!

If you are thinking about going on vacation and renting a car, or like us trying out new cars before we buy, then why not check out the Advantage rent a car site. I think you will be pleased with both the selection and the price.

Laugh, Cry, Laugh, Cry lol

This is a little video I took this weekend of my almost 6 month old baby girl, Elly. If you look close enough you will see her two little teeth on the bottom lol She started getting those two months ago which has sent her into a spin of BABY emotions lol

She loves her Excersaucer ... I had to get the pink one lol With having a boy first I was soooo excited and anxious to have girly things :) (Please ignore my stupid voice on the video lol)

Brother Dear...its Paintball Time!!

I grew up in what I think is a large family. I am number 3 of 8 kids. I have three brothers and four sisters. We have always been close growing up and even more so now as adults. One thing that has never changed and probably WILL NEVER is my brothers picking on me ha. They are always up to something.. just with one look from any one of them across the room can cause me to go in frantic mode thinking my hair is sticking up or I have something on my face, all the while they stand in the corner chuckling at my reaction.

I came across this website called Ultimate Paintball, and I immediately thought of my loving, bratty brothers haha. They have gone paint balling many a times, coming back home with all kinds of paint spatters and exaggerated stories of near victory. I will admit I have always secretly wanted to go. This company is not just the petty paintball this is Ultimate paintball. This is serious stuff!!! I was navigating through the site and found the coolest stuff. You can buy just one paintball gun like the Tippmann 98 Custom which is evidently pretty cool. Its made of a aluminum die cast, has a place for a 200-round hopper. The paintball gun comes by itself or with an entire kit. The Snyder MR2 is another paintball gun that is loaded with features like 3 modes of Fire, has a Break Beam Eye, evidently is easy to Disassemble without tools. Most of these topselling paintball guns come with a 1 year guarantee and free shipping. Free shipping and 1 year of fun guaranteed? What is better than that?

Now this is what I am in the world could I miss one of the bratty cheshire smiles of my brothers armed with one of the Ultimate Paintball topselling paintball guns. So I officially am sending out the call to my brothers and daring them to meet me for a game of Ultimate Paintball.

To learn more about Ultimate Paintball, and to pick up one of the topselling paintball guns visit their very informative website click on Tippmann.

Let Trusted Tours and Attractions Plan your next Vacation!

About 5 1/2 years ago, before my husband and I were married, my family had yet to meet and approve of him or our relationship. I kept hoping that there was some way to slowly start introducing the love of my life to my family. It's not easy to impress seven brothers and sisters, let me tell you haha. However, my older brother and his family decided to go on a mini vacation with us to San Francisco, CA. I was scared..excited..and slightly worried. My boyfriend, at the time, and I were trying desperately to make plans for our vacation. Trying to find places that were kid friendly, close parking, and fun, were not as easy as I had hoped. We ended up finding our way to Alcatraz Island, did the tour thing there, then to Pier 39.... We drove around the city in our rented mini van.. trying to catch glimspes of exciting the San Francisco life. All the while, hoping my brother was impressed with my choice of Man lol. We made it thru this "Wild Vacation", but I tell you it would of been one hundred times better if we would of had a better "planned" vacation and not wing it. I know my brother would of been even more impressed if I would of used San Francisco Trusted Tours and Attractions to get discounted tickets for all kinds of neat tours like the Motorized Cable Car tours, Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf with the Aquarium of the Bay, Ball Park tours, and the list goes on.. and on. You can buy all of these tickets in advance and have your whole vacation planned out at a very reasonable price with loads of fun planned.

Trusted Tours and Attractions not only offers great discounted tickets and tours for San Francisco but for 23 cities total across the United States, like Things to do in Atlanta. So don't make the mistake I did years ago by not planning anything, use sightseeing tours and make your vacation what it should be relaxing and fun.. a real vacation. Let Trusted Tours and Attractions do the work for you.

Trusted Tours and Attractions offers a great newsletter that will send you updates for the city of your choice. Sign up for their newsletter and you might win $150 iTunes gift card, but hurry the offer ends Saturday, May 31st, 2008.

The "Weeds" in My Life...

Yesterday I decided to head out to the back "Yard" (we live in Nevada..we don't have yards we have ROCKS) to do some weeding. These weeds sprout out so fast in between rock and sure makes an ugly mess. It seems in one week a weed will sprout up one or two feet.

As I was bent over with the Nevada sun beating on my back, and the chatter of my little boy close by trying to hold the big trash bag open, I started thinking.. about the weeds... (bare with me lol) not too long ago I was watching something with my son I am not sure if it was Veggie Tales or what.. but it was a little story about weeds.. and they compared them to gossip, rumors, and slander... It seemed that with each weed I was tugging at the Lord was bringing this story to mind in a very real way. The funny thing was after about an hour working at it.. I thought I must be close to being done.. when I took a quick survey of the yard I realized with some dismay, there were tons of weeds I had missed.. What a analogy... Gossip is ugly...once the "seed" of doubt.. or gossip is "planted" it is often impossible to stop the rumors from "growing". They are dangerous and damaging. I for one make excuses for what "stories" I tell or listen too.. God is definitely working on my heart. Be careful what you say..and what you listen too.. Its too easy to justify our curiosity.

Funny how the Lord teaches us things.. He can even use an Ugly ole' useless Weed...

  • Proverbs 11:13

A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

  • Proverbs 16:28

A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

  • Proverbs 18:8

The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.

  • Proverbs 20:19

A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.

Encourage with a Card...

I love shopping at Target...I especially love the clearance end caps lol This week I found a box of greeting cards with beautiful embellishments and a place for a picture on each card. Sending out cards is such a wonderful way to encourage someone. I really enjoy making people happy in that way.. I paid only $6.88 for 20 cards!! I was sooooooooooo excited for my find. (I hate paying $3 to $4 for one card...) The box says its worth $50..I pay only $6ish.. I'd say that's pretty FRUGAL lol I cannot wait to start sending out cards.. Anyone have a birthday coming up? lol (nevermind I only have 20 lol)
Oh, they had an entire end cap full of these greeting card boxes.. might be some left for you lol

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
