Aloha Friday!

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday.. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then clickover to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question:
I just have to say.. Is it already Friday??? What happen to the week!!

Does chewing gum help derail you from running to the pantry or the refrigerator and scarfing down food? lol

My Answer:

I bought some gum tonight.. Extra. (the biggest loser recommended it lol) I have been chewing a piece all night.. seems to be satisfying.

I have not chewed gum in years but it sounds as if it would work.

Sometimes. But if I really want something I eventually get it. :)

Sometimes...depends on how hungry I am when I put it in my mouth. I mean, if my tummy is already rumbling then it only gets louder after awhile...it thinks it is going to be fed, but isn't getting anything.

Not a chance. I wish it worked as I tend to graze all day!

I use sugar-free hard candies (or lifesavers) to curb my cravings for sweets. I'm trying the South Beach diet right now & it's TOUGH! But, I've lost 8 lbs. Not too bad!

Funny, I bought more of the new Extra Strawberry Banana gum two days ago. Since it is no points it is great to keep my mouth "busy" and make me stop and think about if I am really hungry.Often just drinking some water works the same.

I have tried gum, it works for a bit, but I usually give in. I have little to no willpower but i'm trying.

I gave you an award over at my blog! Check it out!

I've heard that, too. I am such a fridge raider. I need to get myself a pack of gum today.

I think it works sometimes. This may sound weird, but, I love to chew gum while drinking a cup of hot tea or coffee. That also helps me to keep from snacking.

Too funny, I always say to my husband that Bob Harper wants me to chew extra gum!! I dont do too good with gum for too long cause I always end up biting the inside of my mouth and it hurts like hell by the end of the day!

Absolutely! It works!

I've tried that, and usually it doesn't work for me.

I just can't imagine it working for me. But then again, I don't have much of a willpower.

If it's a yummy piece of gum, then yes. If it loses its flavor it 15 minutes then I'd spit it out and start eating.

I do chew gum. I love Extra. I chew gum to stave off cravings and to curb my smoking. I don't want to smoke again.

I've never tried chewing gum for that reason, so I don't know! But, here's something I've heard. They say that if you're ever fasting, you should never chew gum. Something about saliva glands activating the enzymes in your stomach and makes you feel very hungry. I should look that up - now I'm surious if that's right!

I have not chewed gum since HS and now find the act rather gross, if one stops to think on it too much. However, do what works.

It all depends on how determined I am to snack or not snack. :) Most times, it's pretty satisfying.

I can't chew gum so I don't know if it would work or not...lol

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
