Have you ever been locked out of the house by your kids? (or someone else if you don't have kids)

Well, obviously, I have... Yesterday in fact.. I was outside pulling weeds.. in the intense Southwest heat. My son was helping me one minute then the next I look over and see him through the glass door doing "haha" Dance-pointing his finger at me. Let's just say I had to threaten, plead, bribe..as I was melting in the heat..seriously almost about to pass out..in the meantime of this I sprained my ankle slightly on the rocks.. UGH lol Thankfully, he opened the door...I was about to have a heat stroke..so I quickly drank a bottle of water. My son is 4 1/2..and now knows its very dangerous to leave mommy outside in the heat...AHHHH!!!

I have never been locked out by my kids, but I have locked myself out. Thankfully I have many people with keys to my house. One quick phone call and I was back in.

I don't think I have ever locked myself out of my house or been locked out. But I have locked myself out of my car too many times to count!!!!

Yes, my oldest son locked me out once. He just thought that was the funniest thing ever!! Me, not so much. What worried me the most was my youngest son was only a few months old. He finally opened the door. I didn't punish him though, I'd never given him the "don't ever lock the door when I go outside" talk!

It has not happened to me yet...

I have been locked out of the house, but not by the kids...yet!

My biggest fear is locking the baby (in her carseat) in the car accidently, while I return the shopping cart. I always park right beside the cart return, and am very careful to make sure my keys are in my hand and not lying on the seat. Do you have that fear?

I got locked out of my sisters house once when I was supposed to be dog sitting. Me and a friend went to the bar for a few drinks and someone stole my keys, we wound up breaking in through a window so the poor pup could get out and go potty!!

My child hasn't done that, per se. BUT once I handed my child the car keys and told them to hold onto them and keep them safe for a minute and the child seemed to think that locking them in the car would be the safest place for them. So no funny joke on the part of my child and I was locked out of my car at a Wal-mart with 4 little kids. :)

lol, thankfully I have not been locked out of the house by my daughter or anyone else for that matter! *knocks on wood*!

Just briefly, then fear of punishment encouraged my son to open the door!

My kids haven't done that although I once locked my daughter & I into her room when she was 2. She needed something & I had just gotten out of the shower & of course was just wearing a towel. She slammed her door shut to be funny only the joke was on both of us. I had changed her doorknob so that the lock was on the outside of her door. She would climb out of her crib around 16 months & we couldn't put anything in the door that she wouldn't climb over.

Anyway I finally was able to get a neighbor to come over & let us out after hollering for about an hour. First thing I did was put a screwdriver on top of the door frame for just that emergency!

Yeah, then I jump from my neighbors roof to my home

I haven't been locked out by my kids before. If I was though I am so unrational I would have broken a window to get in. LOL

I've locked myself out of my house before! My dd has been locked out of her house by the grandkids so it taught me to make certain that I carry my house key when I had to go out to check my mail while watching the grandkids! *L*

I haven't had my kids lock me out. {yet.}

But-- last fourth of July, we accidentally locked ourselves out. That was a fun few hours trying to break back into our house. We were this close to having to call a locksmith. =)

Happy Friday!

The heat is so rough especially when you are stuck in it. My son locked me out of the house once long ago and like yours he thought it was pretty funny. I have never walked out of the house again with out my keys in my hands. Not even to just grab the mail.

Once I was locked out of the car. That never happened again. I always keep a spare key hidden in my yard.

I have been locked out of a couple places. Once was outside a hotel in Texas while my kids were sleeping inside. The door automatically shut behind me. Thankfully I could tap on the window and my oldest daughter came to my rescue. Just about 3 weeks ago I locked me and my children outside of the house when my daughter shut our front door when I didnt have my keys!

Have you ever seen that America's Funniest Home Videos where the wife keeps locking the husband out of the house and the car and whatever else she can and she won't let him back in until he dances for her? If not, it is funny. Hubby liked it so well he tries it whenever he can.

My son is not old enough to do that yet. But my brother used to do it to me all the time.

YES.. It just happened a few weeks ago.. I was having a yard sale and my friend and her son came to help. Our boys are the same age (2).. they were going in and out and next thing I know they were knocking on the door.. from the inside.. It took forever.. but finally one of them figured it out.. I told myself then I was getting an extra key to hide outside.. Reminds me I need to do that!

I have to say that I have never been locked out of my house by my kids. But then my son is afraid to be in the house while I take the garbage out. :)

My kids have never done it to me yet, but I am waiting for that day to happen at our house. My hubby and I once locked ourselves out of our apartment and had to call for them to let us back in. *sigh* A very expensive lesson learned.

Ok the only time I have been locked out of my own house is when I did it to myself. I had my house locked down because my husband was out of town working. With all of my barricading there was no window or door I was ever going to get in. I had to call my daughter to come over and let me in. lol

i haven't been locked out in a LONG time... but i recently got locked IN my bedroom.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Your son is still young and may have thought it was funny. Being exposed to intense heat can be quite dangerous. I'm glad that you're alright. I hope that your ankle is much better.

I have yet to be locked out by my kids. A few weeks ago, we did lock ourselves out when going for a walk. I had the window open in our bedroom and my husband was able to get the screen up and slide in. It was pretty funny.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
