Aloha Friday

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday.
I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a
comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question:

How do you feel about Flu Shots? Let alone the new H1N1 shot?

My Answer:

I have never had a flu shot. I am very concerned about the new H1N1 shot considering it is so new and still in trials yet they are starting to release it to the public. The shots are literally injecting the Flu Virus into our bloodstream! Woo Hoo Can't wait lol So for me I am NOT in favor! I know everyone has their own opinions! This is just mine.. so DON'T GET MAD AT ME lol :)

I am on the fence about the flu vaccine. We have gotten it in the past but I am currently feeling unsure. I do know that I am not in favor of the H1N1 vaccine.

Neither I nor my kids will be getting any flu shots. The flu is unpleasant, but except for people with already depressed immune systems it's not life threatening, but the vaccine? Well we don't really know do we?

My oldest daughter had an allergic reaction to the flu shot, so I opted out with my youngest, to be on the safe side. My doctor agrees. I am not getting the new vaccination. I think it is really scary injecting ourselves with something that is so new.

I'm not a fan of the flu shot at all. None of us have ever had one and don't plan to. The new H1N1 vaccine makes me even MORE leery. Glad to know I'm not alone!

My daughter & I have auto immune diseases & my son was asthmatic due to being on a vent @ birth for quite awhile. We do the flu shot. The h1n1 I haven't decided about. We've all been exposed to it earlier in the year though.

In my whole life, I've been having only the flu shots that were required by school.. the usual ones.. but that's a long time ago.. in the past 5 years or so, i guess i had no shot done.. thank goodness ...and also i wouldn't do the H1N1 shot for sure!
Aloha!

I've never gotten any kind of flu shot, and I'm not planning on it this year. I think the media is making us paranoid about H1N1, and I'm not sure we should be.

I refuse to get it for me or my kids.

I've never had the flu shot (neither have my daughters when they were younger) and I don't plan on getting it anytime soon! I haven't had the flu since I was a kid and it was only twice!

I am mixed on it. I will probable get it for the family. although I have never had a flu shot before. We ahve had some teens die from it here, so I am moving toward getting it for my teen.

We got the regular one, but I don't think we'll get the H1N1 shot. My doctor says there are more risks from the flu than the shot, but the H1N1 shot is so new, plus it sounds like there's going to be a shortage in my area and I'd hate to get it and leave those who really need it without one.

I am on the fence still. I will probably get it (on the advice of my doctor, due to other health issues) but I am not sure about the kids.

I got the flu shot. Not sure if I need it but I figured it couldn't hurt.

I have gotten flu shots since I was in elementary school thanks to having asthma. The one year that I skipped the vaccine is the year I was sick as can be in bed with the flu. My kids have had the shot every year. Right now 3/4 of us have had the vaccine. There is a shortage of the preservative free flu shot for children under 3. This is a huge problem for my 2 year old that has febrile seizures.

I have been studying the research that my SIL (a PA) and brother (pharmacist) get about the H1N1 vaccine. At this point I believe we will probably get them. My hubby has no option since he works in a hospital and is required by law to get both the flu and H1N1 vaccines. I think the hard part with all of the information out there about the H1N1 are non research "experts" spreading non-facts. This causes a lot of confusion out there for people like you and me.

I've never had the flu shot either. Once a year I get sick with something that puts me down for a day or two but other than that it's ok.

I got a flu shot last year and never caught the flu, so I'm getting one again this year. I will not get the H1N1 vaccine. It's just too new.

I got one a couple of times but I'm not going to get either of them this year.

I have never had a flu shot, I doubt this year will be different.

I got a flu shot for the first time last year and had a better winter than usual. I am planning to get the regular flu shot again. The H1N1 shot is too new and I will be skipping it.

For me it's a big NO!! We don't vaccinate period and dreaming of injecting my family with a bunch of mercury is just beyond me!

I (and the kids) do get the regular flu shot each year but I am not decided about the swine flu shot. I just don't know about it since it's so new!

I've never had a flu shot before but I make sure my girls get them every year. Not too sure about the H1Ni though.

It is a dead form of the virus. They say that it is a myth that the shot can give you the flu.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
