Aloha Friday - Politically Correct

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question:

Are you tired of being PC

(Politically Correct) about everything?

My Answer:

YES!!! I am so tired.. of dancing around the issues.. for the mere fact that a person would be offended. Didn't we used to live in a world where a Spade was a Spade..and nothing else? Or a Rose by any other name... I really believe that our Country (America) is really on rocky ground.. as we are concerned about being PC even in times of terror..and catastrophe. You would think after 911 that we would not tolerate...any type of terror.. and yet.. here we are.. the government making excuses.. It's disheartening. America..Stop being so sensitive!!!!! Be accountable! The list of being Politically Correct is getting so long..it's almost to the point..we can't talk at all!!!

Ok..

I feel better lol

You are right on the money with this one. I was just talking about this veryissue with a group of friends from church. If I get labeled narrow minded then so be it. I'm tired of accomodating disgusting immoral attitudes because it is the "right" thing to do.

The great thing about living in the boondocks is that people tend to ignore some of the "pc" stuff & just act like real people. I love it!

Yes, definitely. The people who control the language control the arguement. How did we ever let them get away with that?

I think it's just a screen to hide behind.

You are very right on this.

Nah, I have never been PC...my hubby says I need a filter, oh well.

I try not to go there. It's only opinions to me. No one really knows the true story.

I agree. But...I'm guilty too. Sometimes, I'll have something I'd love to post, but I do not, because I really do not want to upset someone--In real life we could talk it through...Also, there are so many ramifications for different "stands" you really need to know all your facts when you choose to speak. But, I am pretty conservative as I get older and some of the things my kids hear make me crazy!
Thanks for the question:)

I guess it all depends on how you define being PC and being a good person.

Have a great day.

When I was teaching trying to be PC when talking with parents got old quickly. We were limited in what we could say on report cards because everything had to be said a certain way. Recently found some of my hubby's old report cards from elementary school - some of the comments were things I would have been fired over. Unreal how times change.

You said it! It's just an excuse to try and put us in a box with a lock on our tongues. What happened to free speech? If you don't allow free speech to those you despise there IS NO free speech. I'm with you. It's time to say it like it is!

Yep. We're the land of the free and the "say anything" country, right? And yet, if you make your opinion known, you're narrow minded. You must be prejudiced. Just silly.

I totally agree. Seems our freedoms are dwindling daily. We need to put a stop to this stupidity.

Yes, this whole PC thing has gone way to far.

Way too tired of being politically correct! Your life can be ruined these days by just using the wrong word, even if you are not using it in a bad way!

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
