Another Company That Will Pay YOU to Blog!!
Footprint Friday!
Welcome to Footprint Friday! I have decided to host a series every Friday. Our Guest Blogger, Jim from Trails West, will be our contributing author for Footprint Friday. I hope you enjoy his take on 'the family' and what it means in our day and age. Please take a moment to read the Interview with Jim, as well as his article on Raising Children.
Interview with Jim from Trails West
What motivated you to start blogging?
I started blogging because I love to write and express my thoughts and words. I hope that some of the things I write will be a help and an encouragement to someone else.
You write about the family. What is the most important thing about “the family today” that people need to know?
Before government, before the church, before the law, God created the family. Everything in our lives emanates from the family. If the foundation of the family is destroyed then the very glue that holds our culture together is gone.
How long have you been married? How many children do you have?
I have been married 37 years and 5 months. I have 8 children and 14 grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
Anything else we should know about you?
For the past 30 years, my wife and I have had the privilege of serving the Lord full time, in the Philippines and in the States. I am committed to the teaching of a literal 6 day creation, the defense of the authority of the Word of God, and the preservation of the family. There are not many things I am not interested in, which is why I write on such a wide variety of topics.
Raising Kids? There is a Secret!
Raising kids is anything but a piece of cake. It's hard work and even more so if you know the secret. In my last post I said I would share the secret to raising children. As promised the secret is "consistency." The Random House Dictionary of the English Language definesconsistent as "constantly adhering to the same principles, course, form, etc.; holding firmly together." Even the name itself implies that it takes longer than sixty seconds or even sixty months!

My Answers to the Questions:
What is your idea of a romantic Valentine’s Day? Just being able to spend time with my husband.. ideally I would love to go out to eat..and a movie .. or away for the weekend, but with kids... haha doesn't happen.
In reality, what is your Valentine’s Day really like? haha Well.. usually my husband remembers!! He really tries!! He usually brings me lots of roses..too many haha and a gift. (Last year he actually bought me chocolates!!! woo hooo I usually make a nice dinner...and hope that the kids will go down early so we can at least watch a movie together!!
If you could have a lifetime supply of your favorite sweet indulgence, what would it be? hmm I love chocolate. I just love anything chocolate!!!
Is there any sweet treat you absolutely do not like? hmm not really..
If you fell into a pool of chocolate, how would you get out? I wouldn't!!!! lol
Can't wait to send my Goody package to Michelle!!
Hurry over to An Island Life to sign up for the Valentine Goody Swap!! You need to sign up before January 31st!!

What Legacy Will You Leave Behind...?

Perhaps like me you have seen the commercial on TV that frequently advertises a CD that will help you get control of your child in 60 seconds or less. The only way to do that so that the change is permanent is to have leverage, like a full grown T-rex in the backyard that you will feed your child to if they don't shape up! You could also invest in a case of duct tape or even take roping lessons. Whatever it is, it had better be good to stop bad behavior in less than a minute that a kid has been perfecting into an art form for years!

T-Tapp Exercise

I am always looking for new ground breaking ways to lose weight lol New eating programs... New exercise regiments that won't kill me.. New ways to make water taste better.. lol Not too long ago I came across a exercise program called T-Tapp. I actually read about it on other blogs. I started it a couple of months.. ago.. then stopped grrrr.. but I am going to start again today!!! For the short time I used T-Tapp.. I found the program so easy to follow.. No jumping around or doing somersaults. Nothing worse when it takes you 6 months to learn one exercise move!! I highly recommend T-Tapp. In a few months, I will write more about my results. It's recommended to do the program straight for 60 days.. You can check out T-Tapp here! The T-Tapp website gives you all kinds of testimonials and samples of the exercise DVD.

Aloha Friday!

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)
In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.
I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.
There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.
So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
