Weigh In Wednesday

Oh my word I had a migraine yesterday!  Basically lost an entire day..trying to nurse my headache.  First it was a shower, then a hot bath, then meds, the
n eye mask, then ice packs on my brain lol.. finally around 4 pm it slowly faded.  Yesterday I managed to do the Wii Fit for 30 minutes.  I did the free walking.  Which is stepping on and off the balance board.  Kind of like walking mini steps.  Man my calves hurt today!!!!  I love this particular exercise on the Wii Fit because you can set it for 30 minutes or 20 whatever you want, and then turn back to watching TV all the while it keeps the tempo and counts your steps.  My eating has been So So.. :/   I have been eating 2 eggs for breakfast and a cup of coffee..  It really makes all the difference in the world when I start off my morning with protein.   Today I will do the 30 minutes free walking on the Wii Fit..and also do some "running" on the Wii Fit.  Not particularly my favorite exercise but...I do it.  Things are starting to return to normal..  No guests for a while, and perhaps we won't travel out of town for a few weeks..  So back to routine wooo hooo!! :)

How do you do this week??

Works For Me Wednesdays - How Do I Add a Button?

Does anyone know how to put a button on your site with the code below it?  I have tried so many times to follow the "directions" found on a number of different sites but not one seems to work. Grrrr..  Perhaps someone knows a very SIMPLE set of directions to add a button.

Edit: lol  I think I must of made this confusing.  I know how to add a button to the sidebar.. what I am wanting.. is .. I have created a button for my own site..that I want to share..   And I have noticed that a lot of blogs have their button with the copy code right beneath it.. so that other's can "grab their button" and put it on their site.  So I know there is a specific way to do this..and every time I try..either the picture shows up ..and the code doesn't or the code shows up and the picture doesn't lol  Sorry to make this confusing!!!

Weigh In Wednesday

We are back from vacation!!!  What a whirlwind the last two weeks have been.  We shot over to California to visit my husband's Aunt in the hospital.  Thankfully, that was a nice uneventful trip.  Last weekend my brother and some of his kids came for a visit.  We did the tourist thing all day Saturday.. which meant walking for four hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Let me just tell you, if you are going to walk for four hours don't wear imitation crocs lol  My feet hurt so bad by the end of the day I could hardly stand it.   Now I have a hurt foot because I was walking funny all weekend.. which made my foot hurt.. I guess from trying to compensate for walking weird lol  Now I have a cold LOL  So basically all this background nonsense to say that I haven't been able to do my Wii exercises or my treadmill.  I can hardly go down our stairs.   I am hoping my foot sprain whatever it is will heal quickly.  We have more company coming this weekend...and then the next weekend we are traveling out of state again!  I am sure all this running around doesn't help with my diet.

Next week, Lord Willing, I will be back to exercising and losing weight.  Then I can also, write about my Wii Fit (That I love)!!!

Works for me Wednesday - Your Baby Can Read

My son from a young age, has shown such a interest in words and numbers.  Always trying to read things..  studying my keyboard letters.  I was sooo thrilled to come across the program "Your Baby Can Read".  At first I was a sceptic.. let me tell you! lol  But after receiving the entire reading packet, and having my kids use the DVDs, books, and flashcards for 3 weeks now.. I am utterly sold on this foundational way of teaching your children to really read, and comprehend what they read.

My daughter is 16 months old and my son is 4 1/2.   I started them both off on the first set DVD, flashcards, and word books.  This first set last 1 month.  However, my son past this part up very quickly and became increasingly bored lol  So I went ahead and started him on the next DVD set.  Which will also last one month.

Dr. Robert Titzer, the creator of "Your Baby Can Read" recommends that you limit your children's TV/Movie watch or eliminate it completely while they are learning to read.  Which makes sense to me.. because how can "school work" compete with Sponge Bob lol

Things I have observed:

My son (4 1/2) is reading everything he can.  I have noticed him trying to read books more by himself.  Correcting me if I read a word wrong lol  Types words on the computer.  Tells me type a word by spelling it to me.

My Daughter (16 months):  Her communication skills in the last few weeks have exploded since starting "Your Baby Can Read".  She incorporates the words she has learned during the day.  She now says "UP" when she wants me to pick her up.  (which was one of the words on her flashcards).  When she sees the word DOG (not hears but sees) she says "ruff ruff".   When the word CLAP flashes on the screen...she claps.  She follows directions.  She also starting walking in the last few weeks like a crazy woman.  Now I am not saying that walking is attributed to the reading program lol but it's funny how she has just exploded with all these skills.

All in all, after merely three weeks I am more than pleased with the progress my kids are making with this program.  I really urge you to check this program out.  I found a million different places you can purchase the program from, however the main site has little videos that explain a little more about the program..and give adorable examples of babies 9 months reading.  It really is amazing.  Check out "Your Baby Can Read" HERE!

The Bachelor Blunder

I am such an idiot lol

Last night I watched the Bachelor from Monday night.  I always record things and watch them later.  Anyway.. I failed to watch the after the Rose Show... uh.... lol

So I call my sister telling her how happy I am that he chose the girl I
had been rooting for ..ec.t. and
she says "oh you really liked Molly?"
and I say "No not Molly.. Melissa"
and she says.. "UM.. did you watch the After the Rose Show?"
and I said "NO!!!! WHY???
" and she says "Go watch it!!!!!"

LOL  Oh my word.. I could not believe it.  I mean what in the world.. is this world coming too??? lol Did he really have to break up with her on Live TV?  It was so weird.. I was thinking if he truly cared for her..and wanted to
protect her feelings..and try to diminish some of the hurt.. don't you think he
would of kinda ...broke the engagement off before the LIVE SHOW????  I am not blaming him for having a change of heart.. as twisted as it maybe.. but how he did it..was inexcusable!!

I am starting to think he knew he wanted to break up with her.. and
got together with the network..and they either talked him into it or dangled some Mula in front of him.. Otherwise.. why would you do that?  Then in the same show
ask the original girl that you claimed to not love at the finale, if she would give you a second "SHOT"???  ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I really wonder what they are going to do with this next season of the Bachlorette to top the Drama and Twisted "LOVE" from this season.

"Whispers"

I am really confused about an issue right now...

The last year or two have brought so much confusion, and many many questions about the politicians we "had" running for office and the ones we have now positioned in Government.  It seems like rumors, lies, confusion can be felt from all sides of the aisles.. Whether its a politician trying to cover up for his past, or the opposing side trying to sabotage any chances the other might have.

Lately, I have heard more "whispers" and have read more articles about our current
President's birthplace.  This is where my confusion comes into play...   How can it be that he is listed to be born at two different hospitals in Hawaii.. but his Grandmother says she was present a
t his birth in Kenya?  Then suddenly not too long ago a birth certificate was posted on the Internet supposedly saying he was born in Hawaii.  However, many believe it to be forged.  To me it should be simple.. You were either born there or you weren't lol  How can there be three choices?  And one is in a totally different continent.  Well, the reason it does matter is because obviously we all know in order to be President you must be born in the United States.

And what do you think about the "new health plan" the current
administration is wanting to enforce.  Where you have the option to carry a card or have a chip implanted. hmmm.  Or the health records being made available across the board.

What about the nationalized drivers License by 2016?  No more individual state licenses.

What about the 7.7 billion dollars of ear marks tucked in nicely with the massive "stimulus" plan just signed off by the current administration?  Did you know that one of the earmarks is 1
million dollars towards the study of Pig Odor?

What about the talk of the One World Bank.. in which I just heard talked about with the PM of Great Britain!?

There will be more "What Abouts..." everyday.. I am sure..

Do you think it matters what the truth "really" is?  If it doesn't then does it change our standard for America?  Does covering up something.. speak guilt?  Is there something significant to why someone would not be forthright about a pretty easy question?  I am just wondering..not accusing..  Just asking questions.. That is what we should do right? Americans should never stop asking questions..should never stop asking our government to be accountable.  If people aren't accountable for anything, then they get away with everything, if they get away with everything, then our country loses its foundation and values, if that happens.. then we rot from the inside out.
Again, don't get Angry at me.. I am just posing the current event questions.. just curious of "your" opinion..

Wordless Wednesday!

Our TV Screen on the floor... why????  Look at the next picture below!
Look closely at our TV screen.. at the bottom.  There is a dark like wave.  That would be grape juice gifted to us by our 4 year old.  I think it was a science experiment.  (did you know that you can clean between the 2 layer screens? lol)

Works For Me Wednesday!

See the picture to the right?  The Blue Bottle saying 'Monster Screen Clean"?  My husband uses this for our computer screens, TVS, flat screens, anything electronic with a screen.  Often times I am laughing quietly..as he walks around with his cloth and little blue bottle cleaning all the screens in the house..thinking him over the top lol  Well, I must tell you a story that changed my thinking...

There was this little boy, who was four, and he thought it funny (early tonight) to dump his sister's juice down the front of the Television.  And of course Mom and Dad did not notice until a little while later.. when they saw this Alien like dark goo growing inside of the TV up the screen.  Through many
questions, excuses, and blaming it on little sister the truth was found.  So Mom and Dad spent the next 2 hours taking apart the monster TV..peeling back the two later flat screen and mopping up GRAPE JUICE!!!!  The little blue bottle saved the day.  Took away all the stain inside and made it as good as new if not better. .. lol

Ok so I am really not kidding.. our TV looks actually cleaner than it did before the grape juice!!  This stuff is amazing!!!

Weigh In Wednesday!

Something is messed up with my scales and numbers! grrr  My calculations are off..and now I am wanting to "pound" my scales!!  Or perhaps I need to change the batteries out? lol  It has been 5 years..  Anyway, I have done really well this last week.. have not cheated one time! Woo hooo.. The exercising is coming slowly.  I feel sooo much better this week..since getting my eating back under control.  My energy level is climbing.  So I must be doing something right :)

Rabbit? or Resurrection?

297220: Resurrection EggsResurrection Eggs
By Familylife

Lead your kids on a fun, faith-filled Easter egg hunt this year--one that teaches them about Jesus' death and resurrection! Each egg carton is filled with a dozen colorful plastic eggs. Pop them open and find miniature symbols of the Easter story inside. An easy-to-understand booklet in both English and Spanish features Bible stories explaining the significance of each object. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

I never really know which direction to go with Easter Eggs.  And I love this idea of incorporating the true meaning of Easter into the eggs.  So my kids still come away with the essence of Easter not just the Bunny holding a basket of eggs.  I think it's really about instilling values in our children, even in the small things.

CBD has the Resurrection Eggs for 33% off right now at $9.99.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
