MY QUESTION:

There is a saying "It is never right to do wrong to do right". I am an avid Biggest Loser watcher lol and this week I observed something that disturbed me. Ron(a contestant) lied at the voting table so that his son would be closer to winning the competition. So bringing back the quote...Do you believe that it is ever "right to do wrong to do right"?

My ANSWER:

No. I don't believe in compromising myself or other's to accomplish something for myself. I also believe that your "sin" will find you out. I don't need to rely on myself to do something wrong in order for a good outcome, I can rely on the Lord to take care of me! He doesn't need my help :)

I love Swagbucks!! I have earned enough swagbucks to trade in for a gift card.. wooo hooo... Now its just deciding which one.. I am leaning towards the Target card. It's so easy. Old Make UP!!

So I have been hearing a great deal about expiration dates for make up and other items.  I didn't realize even some lotions even have expiration dates.  Evidently because of the natural ingredients in them they go bad after a time.  

(I found this on a answer and question website)

• Mascara: 3 months

• Cleanser: 6 months

• Eye shadow: 6 months 

• Foundation: 6 months

• Moisturizer: 6 months 

• Concealer: 6 to 8 months

• Blush: 6 to 12 months

• Lipstick and gloss: 1 year 

• Powder: 1 year

• Toner: 1 year

• Nail polish: 2 years

• Applicator sponges and brushes: toss disposable ones and wash others regularly.

Keep makeup containers tightly closed and store them at room temperature. Toss anything that looks or smells bad. Yuck.

Bear in mind that natural cosmetics, and those that have no preservatives, may expire sooner than others. You should never add water or (worse!) saliva to thin out a foundation or other cosmetic. Do not return unused foundation to the container. Discard if you accidentally pour out too much. Do not share cosmetics. (Similarly, avoid testers in department stores.)

So the last couple of days I have been going through every cabinet throwing things away.  I filled half a trash bag!!  I always think I'll use that lotion later.  I had like 10 bottles of Bath and Body Lotions under the sink..that were a couple of years old or more.  YIKES!  No woman likes to throw away make up but.. for our health we must! :)

Obesity causes global warming, say scientists

Being overweight is bad for the environment as well as your health, according to a study released today.

Researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine found that overweight people were likely to be more responsible for carbon emissions than slim people because they consume more food and fuel.

The study blamed an increased demand for livestock production for meat, believed to be responsible for 20 per cent of all greenhouse gases due to the toxic methane emitted by cows.

They added that a higher dependency on cars was also a contributing factor.

I am surprised they aren't blaming all the pregnant women for having cravings.  All I have to say is.. they always come up with something lol  Next they will say that sneezing causes hurricanes on the other side of the world. lol

Miss California loses Crown due to Question!

Miss California Answers a question. Do you think she was wrong for speaking her opinion? Do you think she should of just said what was expected? I personally think whether you agree or not she said what she felt was right. Evidently, the word out is that she lost the crown due to the Judge not liking her response. Might as well give them all cue cards with the pre-printed answers  if you want everyone to share the exact opinion and have the exact answer.

Focus Friday

I did go start going through the house slowly..but I still have a lot of work to do as far as purging "stuff"

I did get the house Clean clean this week.. I mean scrub clean lol

Easter Baskets? well... lol in theory they were done?!

My focus:

1. Clean the house again (sheesh) expecting company next weekend.

2. Continue the purging process with all the junk in the house.

3. Get some much needed rest. I spent 25 hours or so this last week working on a website for my brother's church and I stayed up a bit too late this last week ahhh.

MY QUESTION:

If you have been paying attention to the media of late, you would see that our country is definitely out of sorts.  (to put it lightly)  I read a "analysis" yesterday which troubled me deeply put out by our gov.  So my question is this:

(Hypothetically, mind you) If  your stand on moral issues, ethical, religious, schooling, ect.. issues labeled you a "extremist" would you then compromise everything to remove the target if it meant consequences? Crazy question I know.. lol (or is it? ) :)  

My ANSWER:

It's a tough thing to think about really.  Living in America.. you tend to think that our freedoms our very rights would never be challenged or taken from us.  However, (hypothetically) if it meant going against everything I am.. my faith, my core beliefs.. I don't know what kind of person I would be to discount them all due to a target.  Of course I think like most situations..until you are in it.. it's hard to know how you will react.  But I would hope I would never compromise on anything that I truly believe is right. :)  

Susan Boyle Sings

I just watched a clip from Britain's Got Talent (2009) and was moved to tears with Susan Boyle's talent.  She is 47 years old.. and lives in Scotland.  She said she came on the show because before her mother died two years ago she promised her that she would do something with her life.  And this was her way of fulfilling that promise.  For some reason, I think due to copyright issues, YouTube isn't allowing the embed code so all I have is the Link.. Go check it out.  I have watched it a ton of times today! :)

Works For Me Wednesday (Lowfat Snacks)

I am so late getting this WFMW post out!!!  Busy day!  I wanted to share a couple of simple, lowfat snacks that I found really help curb the cravings.  Sweet Cravings that is.. lol :)   

Have you heard of Gogurt? They are actually for kids.  My son is in love with them!  I tried one

 the other day.. and couldn't believe how yummy they were.  I then experimented with one in the freezer..oh my word.. it was heavenly.. and the good news is??? I

t's only 70 calories!

My second snack:  I fill a blender up about 2/3 of the way with crushed ice.  Pour about 1 cup or less of fat free Milk.  Then I choose what I want to add... depends on what I have on hand.  I usually like chocolate.  So

 chocolate syrup or powder mix.  Not a lot.  If you want a little coffee flavor you can mix a little coffee in with it.. I mean

 really little like just a tablespoon or two.  The taste of the chocolate and coffee is very subtle, but my word.. its delicious.  And it makes a TON lol..  As far as calories? I haven't quite figured it out yet.. but with that much crushed ice lol  It can't be very much.  It tricks me into thinking I have a chocolate shake!

My Focus for this next week:

1.      I need to start going through every room.  We want to have a garage sale soon or have goodwill pickup.  So I have a monster task ahead of me.  BLAH lol

 

2.     I need to clean the house today.

3.     I would like to put together some Easter Baskets for the kids for Sunday!  I need to get a move on it lol :)

My Question:

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said today that schools should be open six days a week, at least 11 months a year, to improve student performance. 

"Go ahead and boo me," Duncan told about 400 middle and high school students at a public school in northeast Denver. "I fundamentally think that our school day is too short, our school week is too short and our school year is too short." 

"You're competing for jobs with kids from India and China. I think schools should be open six, seven days a week; 11, 12 months a year," Duncan said.   (full story here)

OK My Question is do you agree that our children starting at the age of five should be attending school 6 to 7 days a week for 11 to 12 months out of the year????

My Answer:

NO NO NO and NO!  That's ridiculous!  It's the quality of education that is needed not every waking moment of our children's life.  We would never see our kids!  What does that mean for those who home school? or go to Private schools?  I am against this completely!  

Where is your Tea Party?

Have you heard of the Tax Day Tea Party?  It's a way for US as Americans.. Not Republican, Democrats, Independents, ect.. but as Americans to stand up and demand our country back.  Demand that we reclaim what our nation was founded on.. Demand that our rights are not taken away.. Demand that we do not keep spending money that we can't afford....   These Tea Parties are literally popping up everywhere across this country.  This is not just a one time event.. these Tea Parties are too show that Americans are united and won't give our country to "the world".  Our Constitution was written for a reason.. not to be stomped on.. and changed.  Do you realize there are people in office with the purpose to form a board of UN lawyers that would sit over the United States?  So The "BUCK" wouldn't stop with United States of America but with the board of lawyers.  We have some serious serious issues right now in country.. some things are happening so fast..that Americans don't even realize what we are losing.

Weigh In Wednesday!

Oh my word.. I thought something was missing today..then I just remembered lol Weigh In Wednesday!!! lol  

Yesterday, I did the Wii for an hour and walked on the treadmill for 1/2 an hour.   I am forcing myself to work the treadmill back into my routine.  I am still struggling in the eating department.  If I do not follow my plan with 2 eggs and a cup of coffee in the morning then pretty much my day seems ruined!  I ate a cupcake last night.. grrr.. but that wasn't the worst of it.. when I watched the biggest loser.. I learned that cupcakes are an average of 500 calories each UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!  I had no idea.  That is the problem.. So my light bulb moment last night was that I am consuming too many calories again DUH! grrr..  What good is exercising when you are offsetting it with an 500 calorie cupcake???  My goal this week is to work on getting myself back on balance with eating.. my cravings are just a mess.  I hate the fact that I feel that I am undoing everything I accomplished last year.. very very disheartening.  So back to the beginning.. :)

This is what happens when you tell your husband for months that the thermostat is acting funny lol  Then one day it flashes Battery LOW!  Now we have to have it looked at professional lol  UGH (because new batteries aren't cutting it lol)

Survival bag - Works for Me Wednesday!

Since we found out my son has severe peanut allergies, and had to carry around an EpiPen, we have never left home without our backpack medications.  We used to just carry it in a Ziploc bag..but not too long ago I found this little Batman backpack.. the mini kind.  Any medicine that we might need when we are out fits in to this little bag.  Not only does this little bag offer us headache medicine when we are out, but without carrying this our son could run into serious issues if he came in contact with peanuts.  

This little backpack works wonderful for our first aid kit.. we can carry it everywhere we go and no one knows its our little portable clinic :)

1.   I absolutely love overcast, rainy days!  Since I was a little girl, I have enjoyed the rain so much more than the Sun!   There is just something so peaceful and calming about rain...not to mention cozy! :)

2.   I love to bake.. hmmm...  Perhaps to my detriment.. but..nevertheless, baking is something I enjoy tremendously.

3.   I love my Wii!  Yes, I am 30 years old and admitting that I love the Wii.. a game console lol  

4.   I love birthdays!  Not mine!  lol   I love making birthdays special for people.   My motto is ...if you don't have a cake for your birthday, and decor..then it wasn't a real birthday lol

5.   I love playing Dutch Blitz, Monopoly, or Skip Bo with my siblings.  I hardly see them since we are all grown..but nothing is better than to be with them playing games..and laughing so hard we take turns running to the bathroom lol  

6.   I love to read!   Pretty Basic huh?  :)  

7.   I love Christmas time!  I love the decorations, the weather, giving gifts, peoples moods are better lol and most importantly.. the meaning of Christmas is so special...The birth of Jesus.  Jesus is so important in my life.. I don't always live like I should.. in fact I fail everyday..but His grace is sufficient.  Because of Him, my eternity is secure..and what is not to LOVE about that :)

Alfred Hitchcocks View on Obesity

When I walk on the treadmill, I must have a distraction!  So normally, I watch movies on my laptop.  Tonight, I found a movie on Netflix called "LifeBoat" by Alfred Hitchcock.  Now I could of sworn I had seen all the Alfred Hitchcock movies...I was wrong!  I am only half way through, and look forward to finishing the movie tomorrow when I walk.  

I saw the funniest thing while watching.  If you are familiar with Hitchcock movies, then you know he has a flair for tucking interesting riddles, facts, and often times portraits of himself if not him actually walking by in the frame.  This particular frame caught my eyes...   Look closely at the picture below...

This struck me so funny while I was sweating, panting, and about to fall over on the treadmill! lol  This didn't even fit in with the movie or the scene.  These people are all stranded in a lifeboat after their ship was torpedoed by the Germans.  Right before this scene they are talking about how they are going to survive and who is to do what on the boat.. Then the next frame cuts to this guy reading the paper lol  I didn't think they had OBESITY problems then lol :)
