Doctors vrs. Online Stores

The Internet has changed the way we do everything. Remember how amazing it was just to dial up and check email? How far we have come in the last few years, where our information, and our livelihoods can be channeled through the use of the Internet.

There is some discussion lately between Opticians and online optical groups. In order to buy glasses online, you must have your PD or Pupillary Distance prescription from your Doctor. However, the opinion of some Doctors is not give out a patients PD numbers so that they could purchase a less expensive pair of eyeglasses online, for they would rather them buy the eyeglasses from their office.

Of course, what I can see , the number one problem is that the Doctors are losing business. On the other hand, you can’t fault people in this economy for wanting to find a cheaper way of meeting their needs. There are many reputable eye glass online companies that pride in their precision and quality. Perhaps there is a way that the Doctors and Online Eye Glass Companies can work together.

I have read that some Opticians are sending patients out the door when they realize all they want is the PD numbers in order to purchase from online stores. That is one sure way for a Doctor to lose business or even possible referrals to treat people unkind.

There will always be patients that prefer the up close personal Doctor-Patient relationships. And some patients who prefer to have the frames fit and adjusted in the office. The Internet, however, has provided a whole new way of doing business. So my opinion is the two need to find a way to work together, or Doctors find a news sales tactic to keep patients in office. Because the Internet isn't going anywhere.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
