Aloha Friday - Put Some Clothes On!

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My Question:

Do you think Katy Perry should of been edited out of Sesame Street for her dress? Read HERE

Katy Perry in 'Sesame Street'

My Answer:

Oh my word! (my response to the picture) YES YES she should be canceled. I mean really? What are we coming too. Wow that's what I want my toddler's hero to be. Mommy Mommy can I get a dress like Miss Perry on Sesame Street??

Awesome Job Katy! Way to be a role model!

Is there NO Common Sense any more????

Thank you Sesame Street for canceling even if it was from media pressure!

I think someone could have made a better clothing choice for sure! I think someone forgot she was doing this for KIDS not adults. I watched the video earlier and I thought it was terrible aside from the clothing.

I haven't seen the video but I am glad they pulled it. So not appropriate for toddlers or preschoolers. Our kids are exposed to enough...let's not expose to 3 year olds! New follower from Aloha Friday!

Yes, I do. I think her attire is so inappropriate for kids. I can't believe that Sesame Street filmed her like that in the first place.

i don't know if she should have been cut but i do think she should have been aware of her audience and that maybe preschoolers aren't interested in her assets . . .

Um... that is a big much. I don't mind what she does for an older audience, but I don't want my 3 year old son objectifying women as a toddler! Jeepers!!

What was Sesame Street staff thinking? What was she thinking? I smell underground dollars here...

Yes! It's a children's show! I don't know why she would wear that or the powers that be at SS would even let her in front of the camera with that on!

I realize that may be normal dress for her but it's not normal for Sesame Street. A wiser person would have dressed more modestly. Shame on her and those at Sesame Street for not catching it early on.

The dress isn't as bad as I expected it to be... I doubt kids will pay much attention to her and focus on Elmo and the catchy song.

I'm not sure what the directors were thinking OR what she was thinking but yes...she should have been instructed on what is acceptable ahead of time. I mean, DUH!

I can understand that is the way she dresses under normal circumstances. However, being on a children's show like Sesame Street means being a role model and changing things up. Shocked that nobody did anything about this BEFORE the hoopla.

I definitely think there should have been a different wardrobe choice for her on Sesame Street.

Well I view it differently. These shows are taped and that could have been edited out. The Network decided not to and another thing the wardrobe must have been decided on by the team, therefore it must have been an approved look.
I do not agree with this look, however she should not be fired because of following the writers and wardrobes lead. Nowadays the kids see so much on TV and in real life that they must have though it was okay for that segment.

Yes! I was watching it thinking, um, my 2 year old would not be allowed to watch that part of the show. Good grief....who thought that was ok?

What was someone thinking?
IT certainly has caused a lot of press.

Have a great Friday!

Glad they pulled it. I would not want my son or my daughter watching that! Somebody should have been in charge of a more appropriate wardrobe for her...

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
