Aloha Friday - Don't take my French Fries!

An Island Life is hosting Aloha Friday. I thought it would be fun to participate. All you have to do is answer the question I ask by leaving a comment. Then click over to An Island Life and link up to Aloha Friday with your own question!

My QUESTION:

They are at it again..Our government is once again putting it's nose in our business.

They are now wanting to ban potatoes from school lunches and from those on the WIC program. Read story here and here!

Apparently they are trying to "help" Americans eat better.

Potatoes????? Not chocolate but Potatoes.

So..What do you think? Should the government be allowed to Ban anything potato so that we will be forced to eat nasty broccoli?

My Answer:

Well, I am never in favor of the government telling us what we can and can't eat. It's our fault if we put ten cups of sour cream on our potato. Perhaps they should ban the sour cream too, and the salt, the bacon, the cheese, the ranch, the ketchup Perhaps if they ban everything I'll get skinny! Oh wait..I think I won't trade in weight loss for a socialistic society.

Potatoes should be the last thing they worry about. They should be more concerned about P.E. or gym programs in schools.

I am missed on this subject. On one hand I can see getting rid of the fries, but on the other hand let's talk about healthy fries. There are healthier ways to cook them!
I think as far as schools go.. Our government has control over public schools and the things that go on there. We should start packing our kids lunch now. That way we will have control over what are kids eat.

I guess it all comes down to what is subsidized by the government to keep the farmers farming. Potatoes really don't add any nutrient value so, I'm not too concerned.

Have a great day!

I think the government needs to worry more about the poverty and other crisis' going on before they worry about potatoes. They are much healtheir than the flavored milks schools serve and the sweets and such.

The government annoys me!

I say brown bag it! That's the best way to determine what your kid eats.

A little about me...

It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
