DIY GOO!

It's Summer, it's hot, and my kids are bored.   

So what do we do?  

We make GOO!   or Flubber as my son likes to call it! :)


This certainly wasn't my idea. I have to give the credit to the Dollar store crafts for providing the recipe along with fool proof instructions!  

My kids  helped me stir the ingredients.


They were "ooohing and ahhing" when the mixture immediately started to form a stringy like consistency.




What YOU need:

(I actually made 1/2 the recipe that the Dollar Store Crafts site recommends.)

1  bottle of glue 4 oz

1/2 tsp of BORAX 
(laundry booster found in the laundry detergent aisle)

3/4 cup of warm water



Directions:

1.  Pour Glue into a large bowl.  Then fill empty glue bottle with warm water, shake, then dump into bowl.  Stir.  


2.  Then in another bowl pour 1/4 cup of water and dissolve the 1/2 tsp of Borax in the warm water by stirring.  


3.  You can also add your food coloring at this point to the glue mixture.  


4.  Mix well, then pour water/borax mixture to the glue mixture.  You will immediately notice a change in the material.  Stir until all the "goo" forms together.  Then playtime :)   You can store the "Goo" in a ziploc bag or sealed container. 


**I had my kids wash their hands well after playing with the Goo.  Since Borax is added in the recipe..I just wanted to take precautions in case of an allergic reaction.  So please make sure you read up on Borax before attempting the recipe.  I am not an expert on all things science!

A little about me...



It is that time again!!!! I am thinking of attempting to lose weight for the 100 millionth time. haha. This time I know it will work :)

In November of 2007, I gave birth to my second child, a C-Section. Not only did that put me back physically, but I also developed high blood pressure. I am only 29. Talk about discouraging.

I started gaining weight in highschool. Seems to have followed me everywhere. My ultimate goal is to lose 120 lbs but I'll settle for 10 right now. haha.

There is absolutely no reason why I cannot succeed in this weight loss endeavor. I have exercise equipment. I guess that means I have to use it. Also, I am going to attempt the Carbohydrates Addict Diet. I have had some success with this in the past.

So I am thinking, with putting my progress out for the world to see.. it will force me to make the right choices. Let's hope!! Feel free to comment on anything or tell your story. It's always encouraging to hear about others successes. Join me on this weight loss journey...
